Dorset Police are asking if anyone recognises the two men, captured on CCTV footage, who are suspected of picking up a 12 year old boy by the waist and stealing his hoverboard.
It’s been reported that at around 10 pm on Sunday 2nd August 2020, the boy and his older brother were riding along Swanage seafront on their hoverboards, which are similar to skateboards but are powered, when they were approached by two unknown men, who asked to have a go.
Saw the men on Institute Road
They said no and left. Around three to five minutes later, the brothers saw the same men on Institute Road.
Dorset Police says that one of the suspects, who was wearing a grey hooded top picked the 12 year old boy up around his waist and stole the hoverboard, which typically cost around £150.
“A distressing and upsetting incident”
Police Constable Charlotte Curry, of Poole Police, said:
“This was a distressing and upsetting incident for the victim and his brother. As part of our investigations I have obtained a CCTV image of the two suspects and I would urge anyone who recognises them to please contact Dorset Police.”
