Car speeding in Swanage seized by police

A vehicle that was caught speeding along the High Street in Swanage, was also found to have the wrong level of car insurance by the Dorset Police No Excuse team.

On patrol in Purbeck on the evening of Friday 4th June 2021, the Volkswagen people carrier was pulled over by the police and the driver questioned.

The driver was reported to court

The No Excuse team reported:

“We had a fairly quiet evening despite the amount of traffic in the area.

“The vehicle was stopped for doing 45 mph in a 30 on the High Street in Swanage. His insurance policy covered him for social, domestic and personal uses only but he was using it for business purposes.

“The vehicle was seized and the driver reported to court. Please ensure you have the correct level of cover for your journey.”
