Driver dies in car crash at Holton Heath

A man has died following a road traffic collision near the junction with a business park at Holton Heath in Dorset.

The South Western Ambulance Service contacted Dorset Police at 5.35 am on Sunday 1st June 2025 about the incident on the Wareham Road, between the Bakers Arms roundabout and the entrance to the Kingsbridge Business Park, formerly known as the Romany Business Park.

Pronounced dead at the scene

Emergency services attended and, very sadly, the driver of a silver Ford Fiesta Flight, was pronounced dead at the scene.

His family has been informed and are being supported by specially-trained officers. There were no passengers in the vehicle.

Road closures were put in place to allow the emergency services to respond to the incident and for a detailed examination of the collision scene to be carried out.

Sergeant Dave Cotterill, of the Roads Policing Team, said:

“Our thoughts go out to the family and loved ones of the man who very sadly died in this collision.

“We are continuing to carry out a detailed investigation to establish the full circumstances of what happened.

“I would urge any witnesses, or anyone who may have captured relevant dashcam footage or doorbell CCTV in the local area, to please make contact with us.

“Finally, I would like to thank members of the public for their patience and understanding during the road closures.”
