East Bar in the High Street in Swanage has been given a deep clean and customers will now have their temperature taken when they arrive, after the management was informed that a person who was in the vicinity of the venue had tested positive for COVID-19.
On social media, the management of the bar said that they wished to clear up any false rumours that were circulating by issuing a statement.

“We have been in contact with Public Health England”
It said:
“After being informed by a member of the public who was in the vicinity of the East Bar on Saturday night (22nd August 2020), that they had since tested positive for coronavirus, we have been in contact with Public Health England and all other relevant authorities, who have confirmed there is no significant risk to public health or the wellbeing of our staff.”
“However, as a precaution, we have carried out a deep clean of all venues within the company. We will also be adding temperature checks on entrance to the East Bar, starting tonight (Wednesday 26th August 2020) and anyone who refuses to cooperate will be denied entry.”
