Dorset Police say that a body has been discovered in the river in Wareham and while not formally identified yet, the family of a man who’s been missing for several months, are being supported by police officers.
Steven Clarke aged 54 from Wareham has been missing since Thursday 26th January 2023.

Death is not being treated as suspicious
Dorset Search and Rescue team, the coastguard, RNLI, police officers and local volunteers have all been searching for him since.
The report of the body in the river was received by Dorset Police at 5.20 pm on Friday 31st March 2023. Dorset Police say that the death is not being treated as suspicious and the coroner has been notified.
Dorset Police chief superintendent Jared Parkin said:
“Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of Steven Clarke and they will be kept fully updated as a formal identification process now takes place.”
