Foot stomping success for The Swanage School’s production of Fame

The musical, Fame, performed by a cast from The Swanage School, played to packed audiences at the Mowlem this week. With four performances over three days, the students danced and sung their way through show stopping numbers like ‘Fame’ and ‘Dancin’ on the Sidewalk’.

Standing ovation

The final show on Saturday evening was a sellout and ended with a standing ovation. This success was a reflection of all the hard work from the cast and teachers, who have been rehearsing since last summer.

The school’s Head of Performing Arts and the musical’s director, Harry Peake said:

“The cast and crew have worked extremely hard to bring you another ‘smash hit’ Swanage School production, and may I take this opportunity to thank everyone who has worked so hard to bring my vision to life; it means more than you will ever know!”

This production follows on from last year’s impressive performance by the school of the musical, Hairspray. Next year, there are already plans to perform the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical, The Wizard of Oz.
