Four people involved in vehicle collision on road into Swanage

Valley Road between Swanage and Harman’s Cross in Dorset was closed for several hours after two vehicles collided.

The incident happened just before 5 pm on Wednesday 4th December 2024 near the Valley Road junction with Crack Lane.

Fire crews from Swanage and Poole were called to the scene

“No one was trapped”

There were two drivers and two passengers involved in the collision but fortunately none of them were trapped in their vehicles after the crash.

Evening rush hour traffic was diverted via Langton Matravers while the ambulance service and fire crews from Swanage and Poole dealt with the incident.

A spokesperson from Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said:

“We were called at 4.54 pm on 4th December 2024 to Valley Road, Harmans Cross to reports of a two-vehicle road traffic collision.

“Two crews attended; one from Poole and one from Swanage.

“On arrival, no one was trapped, and four casualties were handed over into the care of the ambulance service. The scene was made safe, and our stop came in at 5.50 pm.”
