Swanage Information Centre and Durlston Country Park are both in with a chance of winning a South West England Tourism Excellence Award for 2020, after being shortlisted as finalists.
They’ll find out if they have won on the 6th February 2020 at a black tie dinner at Exeter Cathedral, when the Gold, Silver and Bronze trophies will be handed out. The winners may then be nominated to represent the South West in the national Visit England awards.
Gold awards
Swanage Information Centre has been nominated in the visitor service of the year category, while Durlston Country Park has been shortlisted in the accessible and inclusive category. This follows on from the Dorset Tourism Awards 2019 when they both won Gold awards in their categories..
Commenting on the Swanage Information Centre’s nomination, the Chair of the Council’s Tourism Committee, Councillor Caroline Finch said:
“This is great news, as it once again demonstrates that the centre’s team is performing to a very high standard and should be really proud of what it is providing here in Swanage.”
“We weren’t expecting to reach the SW Awards this year, as we knew we had some stiff competition, but the consistency of excellence shown by the team has shone through!”
