Man in his 70s dies in Swanage following “medical incident”

The air ambulance, ambulance crews and police were all called to help a man in Swanage requiring urgent medical assistance.

Dorset Police say they received a request for assistance from the ambulance service at 11.25 am on Sunday 11th April 2021, following what they referred to as a “medical incident” in Park Road.

The air ambulance landed on the Downs

The Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance arrived shortly after 11.30 am landing near to Park Road on the Downs.

A Dorset Police spokesperson said:

“Officers attended to assist. Very sadly, the man aged in his 70s was pronounced dead at the scene. The death is not being treated as suspicious. His next of kin has been informed and our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time.”
