Man in Swanage has jaw broken in violent assault

Eyewitnesses called emergency services after a group on motorcycles approached a man in his 30s and he was punched to the ground in Swanage town centre.

The incident happened just after 9 pm on Tuesday 18th June 2024 on the corner of Rempstone Road and Station Road, opposite Swanage station.

Eyewitnesses said the assault on the corner of Rempstone Road, was brutal leaving the victim’s blood on the pavement

“Group of around five people”

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said:

“Dorset Police received a report at 9.24 pm on Tuesday 18th June 2024 that a man had been assaulted in Rempstone Road in Swanage.

“It was reported that the victim, a man aged in his 30s, had been approached by a group of around five people who had been on motor bikes and was punched by one of the group. He was taken to hospital for treatment to a broken jaw.

“Detectives from Dorset County CID are investigating this incident and carrying out a number of enquiries, including CCTV enquiries.

“No arrests have been made at this time.”
