Dorset Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to contact them after a motorcyclist and a vehicle collided on the Wareham bypass in Dorset, near to the junction with the A352 Worgret Road.
The incident occurred at around 4.50 pm on Sunday 12th May 2024 and involved a grey Ford C-Max and a black Triumph motorcycle.
The incident happened on the Wareham bypass near to the Worgret Road junction off the Wareham roundabout, closing the road for about two and a half hours
Life changing injuries
The rider of the motorcycle – a man aged in his 50s from Poole – was taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries that are described as life-changing.
The Ford driver sustained minor injuries.
The section of the Wareham Bypass was closed for about two and a half hours while emergency services safely dealt with the incident and carried out an examination of the scene. The road was reopened at around 7.30 pm.

Police sergeant Dave Cotterill, of the traffic unit, said:
“I am carrying out enquiries to establish what happened and am keen to speak to any witnesses who were in the area.
“I would also like to hear from any motorists who may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage.
“Finally, I would like to thank the public for their patience and understanding while the road closures were in place.”
