Police warning after thieves target tools in Swanage

Residents in Swanage are urged to remain alert after a spree of burglaries in the town.

Thieves have reportedly taken tools from commercial buildings in Swanage over the past several days.

Police say there were two burglaries at the Victoria Avenue Industrial Estate and one at Washpond Lane.

Officers are now urging residents to take all necessary precautions to keep their tools safe.

This includes ensuring that they are stored securely and are appropriately recorded.

A Dorset Police spokesperson said:

“Over the last few days there have been commercial break-ins in Swanage where tools have been targeted.

“Two burglaries occurred at the Industrial Estate on Victoria Avenue and one in Washpond Lane.

“Please ensure any power tools or valuable items stored in sheds, garages, workshops, outbuildings etc are property marked and details such as make, model and serial numbers are recorded and any valuables such as tools, bicycles, quad bikes etc are secured.”
