Power tools stolen from van in central Swanage

Thieves broke into a vehicle parked overnight in Swanage, Dorset, stealing a number of expensive power tools.

Purbeck Police say that the exact time of the crime is not known but it was believed to have happened overnight between Tuesday 10th and Wednesday 11th September 2024.

The theft occured in Kings Road West near to the junction with Springfield Road

Appeal for information

The vehicle was parked on Kings Road West near the junction with Springfield Road, opposite the Co-op supermarket, when the incident happened.

The police are now appealing for any information about the incident including letting them know if anyone finds any discarded tools.

“Numerous Makita power tools”

Purbeck Police reported:

“It is believed that the offender(s) broke into the vehicle by forcing the sliding side door open, stealing numerous Makita power tools from within.

“If you saw something suspicious in this area or happen to find any power tools that may have been discarded, please contact us.”

There were also reports of a number of garages that were broken into on the same night in Swanage near Rabling Road and Victoria Avenue.
