Purbeck Police appeal after suspected stolen tools found

Purbeck Police have found a set of tools at Lytchett Matravers – and are now asking for anyone whose tools have been stolen in the area recently to come forward.

The force discovered the DeWALT tools while on patrol on the morning of Tuesday 16th February 2021.

On social media, they said:

“Whilst on patrol this morning at Lytchett Matravers, we found several tools which we suspect have been stolen. If you have had DeWALT work tools stolen very recently in the Purbeck area then please report via 101 and ask for Purbeck NPT to be made aware.”

Protect your tools from theft

Purbeck Police added a plea to owners to ensure their tools are safe by keeping their vehicles locked and make them easily identifiable.

They said:

“Please remember to lock your vehicles, take valuables out of them where possible and to mark your tools to make them identifiable and to prevent thieves from taking them. (The brighter and more noticeable the better.)

“This prevents them selling them on and often deters them from taking in the first place.”
