The Swanage-based charity, #Willdoes is thrilled that Sandra Rednapp has agreed to become its patron. Sandra, who is currently co-starring in the ITV programme ‘Harry Rednapp’s Sandbanks Summer’, agreed to champion the charity’s cause after she met the founder, Lesley Paddy, at a recent fundraiser at Rick Stein’s in Sandbanks, Dorset.
Finding life tough
The charity was set up in 2019 in memory of Lesley’s son, William Paddy, to help young people who are finding life tough and struggling to cope with their daily life. Will, who grew up near Swanage, was a sporty child whose life ended at the age of 14.
The charity raises money to promote the education, physical health, mental health and social inclusion of young people through introducing them to sports and other activities to help them connect and engage socially.
Worthy cause
Sandra Rednapp, who is keen to promote the charity’s goal said:
“I am privileged and honoured to support this worthy cause.”
Lesley Paddy added:
“As a mother and grandmother, Sandra clearly understands the trials and issues young people face today with many struggling to find the support they desperately need.
“After losing Will, my world fell apart, but I am determined to help others and, at the same time, keep his memory alive by listening and supporting young people through tough times. I am so grateful that other people such as Sandra are helping me.”
