Set alight maliciously

Dorset Police say that following initial enquiries, it’s believed that the vehicle, a white Nissan Qashqai, was set alight maliciously. No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.

Now detectives investigating the suspected arson are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Detective constable Thomas Pocock, of Dorset Police, said:

“We have liaised with colleagues from the fire service and the current assessment is that this incident was not accidental.

“I would urge anyone who witnessed suspicious activity in the area at the relevant time to please come forward.

“I am particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have seen two men acting suspiciously. They are described as white, with one wearing a light coloured hooded tracksuit with his hood up and lower part of his face covered, and the other wearing darker clothing with a coat, black trousers and black shoes and holding a phone torch.

“Also, I am keen to hear from nearby residents with doorbell or CCTV cameras or motorists with dashcam who were driving in the area and may have captured relevant footage that might assist our investigation.”
