The Information Centre in Swanage has been named Visitor Information Service of the Year for South West England.
In a remarkable achievement, the team beat stiff competition from across Devon, Cornwall and Somerset.
Accessible and inclusive
Speaking to Swanage.News, Swanage Visitor Services Manager said:
“I’ve got an amazing team. We have a passion for the town, we love what we’re doing and we really believe in Swanage. It’s a great location to visit, as well as a fantastic community.”
Durlston Country Park was also a winner in the Accessible and Inclusive Tourism category, receiving the Bronze award. Top in its category was the Roman Baths and Pump Room in Bath, so the team was up against some very tough opposition and did well to come so close to such a large and established tourist attraction.
Awards organiser, Robin Barker of Services for Tourism, said:
“I never cease to be amazed by the innovation, dedication and imagination of our tourism businesses – not to mention their sheer hard work. It’s humbling to be part of this and I’d like to add my congratulations to all the winners.”
