A Swanage lifeboat crew helped in the search for a missing man who was found safe around Ballard Point.
The coastguard and RNLI were asked to assist when the police were called at 12.20pm on Monday 9th November 2020 to find a man in his 20s after concerns were raised for his welfare. He was believed to be in the Swanage area.
The Swanage lifeboat crew rushed out to sea and was tasked to scour the coastline from Durlston Head to Old Harry Rocks for any sight of him.
However, after about 10 minutes the police called to say the man had been found safe in the Ballard Point area. Upon being found, he was given suitable care.
A spokesperson for Swanage RNLI said:
“The search area was from Durlston Head to Old Harry Rocks and the ILB (inshore lifeboat) was tasked to search the shoreline for any sign of them.
“The ILB launched and was quickly on scene and searching. After 10 minutes or so Dorset Police reported that they had found the person safe and well so all units were stood down with their thanks.”
