From the release of wild beavers in Studland to the aerobatics by the Red Arrows over Swanage Bay in Dorset, there’s always plenty happening in Purbeck and sometimes we get the chance to capture the events on video.
While the Swanage.News stories are always on our website, our app, and posted to Facebook, often our video clips and mini films are released first on YouTube.
New content regularly appears on the Swanage.News YouTube channel
Nearly 200 videos on YouTube channel
The Swanage.News YouTube channel was launched in October 2019 and there’s now 192 videos uploaded on the site.
A lot of the videos are original content filmed by us while out covering stories, but some are sent to us, captured by people who just happened to be at the right place at the right time to capture newsworthy incidents, like the memorable and dramatic rescue of an elderly driver from his Bentley as it started to sink in Poole Harbour in October 2025.
