While the rest of Dorset was covered in snow, Swanage got a little too hot when a car caught alight in Ulwell Road at the junction with Burlington Road.
The car fire happened around 9 am on Thursday 21st November 2024.
The road out of Swanage towards Studland was closed by police
Ulwell Road closed
Purbeck Police closed Ulwell Road while Swanage firefighters extinguished the flames from the bonnet of the vehicle.
The car, believed to be a Renault Scenic, was completely destroyed by the blaze.
The flames were quickly put out
The front of the car was completely burnt out
“No one was hurt”
Swanage Fire Station reported:
“Luckily the occupants were fine and no one was hurt.”
Purbeck Police said:
“If you happened to come across this incident this morning, thank you for being patient and finding an alternative route.”
Police and fire crews attended the incident
