Swanage webcam with perfect bay view is back online

A webcam with a panoramic view across Swanage is now streaming 24 hours a day, allowing anyone to check the local weather conditions or admire the scenery.

The live 24/7 Swanage webcam is located in south Swanage, looking across the bay towards Ballard Down and is now back online after refurbishment.

Instant success

First launched in 2022, it was an instant success and is available to watch via the local information and tourist guide website Swanage.co.uk, as well as social media Facebook and YouTube.

During the day it shows a view of Swanage Bay from the roof of The Mowlem, along the main beach, right round to North Beach.

Also in sight is the Banjo Pier, Shore Road, the war memorial on the Recreation Ground, Sandpit Field where Swanage Carnival is held every year, and the Grand Hotel in the distance.

At night as it gets dark, viewers can watch the lights come on along the seafront and in all the homes and buildings.

Festivals, fireworks and events

It should also give a good view throughout the year of many of Swanage’s festivals and events including the fireworks during the Swanage Carnival for anyone not able to be here in person.

There are other webcams in Swanage which give different views of the area including the Swanage Coastwatch webcam at Peveril Point, Swanage RNLI webcam which shows the lifeboats launching, and the Swanage Railway webcam at Swanage station.
