As a result of the Government’s announcement that people should socially distance themselves and avoid public buildings including theatres, the Mowlem in Swanage has announced that it is closing from 10.30 pm Thursday 19th March 2020.
A statement posted on it’s Facebook page said:
“First, and most importantly, all of us at the Mowlem Theatre hope you and your loved ones are well. The health and wellbeing of our staff, our audiences and our community are our first priority.”
It continued:
“During this time we are working with our artists, promoters and event organisers to reschedule events wherever possible. Please be reassured that ticket holders will be contacted directly, and we ask that customers do not call or email the Mowlem until further information is given.”
“This is a very difficult time for everyone. The Mowlem is a charity and most of our funding comes from people like you coming to see our shows, spending money on tickets, drinks and refreshments. Please consider donating the cost of your ticket rather than requesting a credit or refund.”
It’s not known when the Mowlem will reopen. The theatre says it will keep its customers informed via its website, Facebook, email and the local media.
