The Swanage RNLI crew are to be on telly again as part of the BBC TV series ‘Saving Lives at Sea’. The episode, featuring the local crew and the Poole RNLI volunteers, will be broadcast on Wednesday 26th February 2020 on BBC2 at 8 pm.
The 10-part series shows real rescues carried out by the charity’s volunteer lifeboat crews and lifeguards from around the UK and Ireland.
Swanage and Poole RNLI volunteers
Filmed last year, this forthcoming episode sees Swanage and Poole RNLI volunteers teaming up in one of the largest searches carried out by the RNLI.
Dave Turnbull, Swanage Lifeboat Coxswain, Dave Turnball said:
“In this episode you’ll see how a number of volunteers across eight lifeboats from six lifeboat stations worked together in an incident off the Dorset coast. When the call comes in and you go to sea you are one team giving it your all.”
If you miss the live transmission, the TV programme will be available on the BBC’s iPlayer after the broadcast.
