Dorset History Centre is looking for people in Swanage and across the county, to keep a diary recording the impact of the spread of coronavirus on their community. The plan is for the Dorset History Centre in partnership with Lighthouse, Poole’s centre for the arts, to create an archive that tells the story of coronavirus and captures it for posterity.
The county-wide history project is looking to recruit people as soon as possible from all ages and backgrounds, to keep a diary and submit it on a regular basis. As the coronavirus crisis is evolving so rapidly, there is a real sense of urgency about this.
Ideally every day
The diaries can be in any format – handwritten, typed, audio-visual recordings, art works, photographs – but contributors would ideally be able to commit to making an entry at least every couple of days and ideally every day.
Anyone who would like to become one of Dorset’s Corona Diarists is invited to email archives@dorsetcouncil.gov.uk to register their interest.
