Swanage beachgoers should be careful over the next few days as huge swells are set to hit the south west coast.
As more people flock to the seaside over half term, the RNLI – a charity that saves lives at sea – is urging people to take extra caution with bad weather on the way.
Strong winds have already battered the region over the past few days, but an even larger swell is expected to continue on Thursday 29th October 2020.
While it is anticipated to be at its most dangerous in Cornwall and Devon, Dorset’s shores are also advised to expect rough conditions.

Steve Instance, RNLI Water Safety Lead for the South West, said:
“Experts have been watching weather systems out in the Atlantic for the last few weeks to calculate the impact on swell conditions hitting Europe and the UK.
“Forecasts at the moment are predicting a huge swell to arrive on Wednesday and into Thursday combined with strong winds.
‘Sea conditions are set to be extremely dangerous and it’s likely most beaches will be red flagged with huge waves, strong rip currents and increased tidal surges.”
