Cyclist knocked off bike by pick-up truck near Wool

A man on his bike was hospitalised following a collision with a trailer being towed by a truck that failed to stop. 

Dorset Police are appealing for the driver to come forward after the cyclist in his 60s was hit on Bindon Lane near Wool some time between 9.45 am and 10.15 am on Sunday 20th December 2020 by an agricultural trailer towed by an Isuzu pick-up truck.

The driver of the truck reportedly did not stop and continued driving along the rural lane towards Wool.

The man, who is from Poole, suffered a suspected broken leg and is still in hospital.

Appeal for witnesses

Police Constable Clare Gillard of the traffic unit, said: 

“I am appealing to anyone who was travelling along Bindon Lane at the relevant time and either witnessed the incident or may have captured it on dashcam to please contact Dorset Police.

“I would also ask the motorist involved to please get in touch so we can take an account for our investigation.”
