The first shout of the month for the Swanage Lifeboat crew was to assist a yacht crew member who was feeling unwell.

They were reportedly suffering from seasickness as well as other underlying conditions.

Assisting the crew member

Once the lifeboat was alongside the yacht, two crew members got aboard to assess the casualty and work out the best plan of action to get them to safety.

They decided to call an ambulance, who would meet them at the lifeboat station. The sick crew member and partner came aboard the lifeboat and were safely brought back to shore.

The casualty was subsequently cleared to return home after a check up from paramedics.
