Police warning after youths caught on Wool train tracks

Youths who were caught trespassing on the railway tracks at Wool train station have been issued with “stern words” by Purbeck Police.

On Monday 12th April 2021, the Purbeck North neighbourhood policing team (NPT) were on patrol in Wool, when they spotted the youths on the track.

The police warned that playing on train tracks is extremely dangerous and can lead to severe injury or even death.

Officers took the youths’ details and issued them with some “stern” advice. They were also reported to the British Transport Police for trespassing.

Risk of “death or serious injury”

On social media, Purbeck Police said:

“Purbeck North NPT have been out on summer patrols today. Whilst patrolling through Wool this afternoon we noticed some youths on the track at the train station.

“We approached them, gained details and gave them some stern words of advice.

“They have also been reported to British Transport Police for trespassing on the track. Playing on the tracks can result in death or serious injury.”
