Toppled sideways due to the strong winds

In the evening on the Bank Holiday Monday, scaffolding that had been up the side of a house in Morrison Road in Swanage, toppled sideways due to the strong winds and although there was a car underneath, it escaped unscathed.

While in the neighbouring road, Kings Road West, a telephone wire was blown down.

On the Corfe Castle to Studland Road, a tree fell across the road, blocking the route between Rempstone Hall and Kingswood Farm. Police closed the road, while Rempstone Tree Management removed the tree.

“Broken its mooring”

The next morning on Tuesday 4th May 2021 Swanage Coastguard were called to investigate a boat that had been blown onto the shore at Studland.

Swanage Coastguard reported:

“The team were tasked to Studland this afternoon to check a washed up vessel. It appeared the vessel may have broken its mooring in the recent strong winds.

“Ensuring no one had been on board and checking it was secure the team returned to station.”
