Always know where your kids are, warns Purbeck Police

Purbeck Police is warning parents of the dangers of not knowing where their children are and what they are doing, after four teenagers were spotted on CCTV sitting precariously on a high roof along Shore Road in Swanage.

The police were called to the building yesterday evening where they were able to get the children down safely.

“Four youths in a very dangerous location”

Purbeck Police said:

“We were a little late off shift last night after reports of antisocial behavior (ASB) in the Swanage area. We located four youths in a very dangerous location. All children were apologetic for their behaviour during the evening and given strong words of advice.

“All parents were then visited as a result and were very supportive.”

With many young people having been away from a school environment for many months due to the coronavirus pandemic and the summer school holidays about to start, Purbeck Police posted the CCTV image on its Facebook page to highlight the importance of parents knowing where their children are, for their children’s own safety.

Due to their young age, the identity of the teenagers have been obscured with emojis by the police.
