“Extensive damage to the property”

A grey Mitsubishi car had driven into the property causing the front downstairs bay window to collapse, seriously undermining the structure of the front of the Victorian red brick house.

Swanage Fire Station reported:

“Earlier today we were mobilised to a car that had accidentally driven into a building.

“This caused extensive damage to the property. Luckily there was no one in at the time and the driver of the car was unhurt.”

“Crews made the scene safe”

The house is at the end of Osborne Road on the junction with Townsend Road and Queen’s Road, near to Swanage Primary School.

Swanage Fire Station added:

“Crews made the scene safe and waited for a building control officer and a contracting team to make the building secure. We remained on the scene until there was no further possibility of the building collapsing.”
