For the second time that day, emergency services were called to a car crash near Corfe Castle in Dorset that blocked the road.
At 6.45 pm on Tuesday 25th July 2023, Swanage Fire Station headed towards the incident involving one car on the B3351 Corfe Castle to Studland near the Brenscombe Outdoor Centre.
Swanage Fire Station crews were nearby when the call came in and were able to get to the scene quickly
The car appeared to have collided with a tree trunk at the side of the narrow lane
“Crews administered first aid”
Despite the silver car being a write off after hitting a tree at the side of the narrow road, fortunately the driver received only minor injuries.
Swanage Fire Station reported:
“One pump and Land Rover from Swanage and one pump from Wareham, were mobilised to a single car road traffic collision this evening.
“On arrival the casualty was out of the car but had sustained minor injuries. Crews administered first aid until the arrival of the ambulance service and made the scene safe.”
The B3351 New Road was closed for several hours while crews dealt with the incident
Wareham Fire Station attended the earlier vehicle collision as well
Second vehicle incident that day
Earlier that morning two vehicles had collided nearby on Valley Road at Harman’s Cross.
Both drivers had to be cut out of their vehicles and taken to hospital – one by air ambulance to Southampton General Hospital.
