“Drive down narrow lanes with caution”

As a single carriageway road, the speed limit is 60 mph along Washpond Lane, which links Ulwell Road in North Swanage with the High Street in West Swanage.

Currently, Swanage Town Council is in discussions with Dorset Council to reduce the speed limit to 30 mph on a small stretch of Washpond Lane at the junction with Northbrook Road, near to St Mary’s RC primary school.

Swanage Fire Station added:

“Make sure you drive down narrow lanes with caution, especially in colder weather.”
