Long traffic delays as tree falls across road

Residents and visitors heading in and out of Swanage this afternoon, Thursday 27th August 2020 faced long delays after a large tree partially blocked the A351 at Sandford.

Dorset Police were on the scene around to help direct the traffic around the fallen tree but long queues built up on both sides causing frustrating delays for motorists at around 5 pm.

The mature tree crashed onto the road between the Sandford St Martin’s Primary School and the Sandford car wash, adding about half an hour to everyone’s journey time.
