In what has been described as a “terrible shock”, long-serving enforcement officer for Swanage Town Council, Clive Dragon collapsed while on duty and has sadly died.
Staff and councillors are mourning his loss and have sent their condolences to his wife Julie and their two sons.
He had been employed by the council for 16 years and died unexpectedly on Friday 13th August 2021, having collapsed while on duty that afternoon.
“Big part of a small team”
Town clerk for Swanage Town Council, Martin Ayres said:
“Clive was a big part of a small team at the town council. He was always there to support his colleagues and his sudden passing has been a terrible shock for everyone.
“Although people automatically think of an enforcement officer issuing parking fines, Clive was never happier than when helping out a visitor or providing someone with reassurance.”
“Greatly missed by us all”
Swanage Town Mayor, councillor Avril Harris added:
“Clive was a hard-working and dedicated member of staff and he will be very greatly missed by us all. Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with his wife, Julie, and their two sons.”
