He had been employed by the council for 16 years and died unexpectedly on Friday 13th August 2021, having collapsed while on duty that afternoon.

“Big part of a small team”

Town clerk for Swanage Town Council, Martin Ayres said:

“Clive was a big part of a small team at the town council. He was always there to support his colleagues and his sudden passing has been a terrible shock for everyone.

“Although people automatically think of an enforcement officer issuing parking fines, Clive was never happier than when helping out a visitor or providing someone with reassurance.”

“Greatly missed by us all”

Swanage Town Mayor, councillor Avril Harris added:

“Clive was a hard-working and dedicated member of staff and he will be very greatly missed by us all. Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with his wife, Julie, and their two sons.”
