Top US comedian to perform new show in Swanage

Following the recent sell out comedy performances of Seann Welsh and Andy Parsons at The Mowlem in Swanage, Dorset, another star comedian has been booked for 2024.

American born Rich Hall, who’s appeared on BBC TV shows, Live at the Apollo, QI and Have I got News for You, is to bring his new act to the town on Saturday 4th May 2024.

New rants and knife-edge observations

His latest tour, called Shot From Cannons, starts in Maidstone in Kent on Wednesday 1st May 2024 before heading to Swanage via Taunton in Somerset and Teignmouth in Devon.

It follows on from the publication in 2022 of his book, Nailing It: Tales from the Comedy Frontier, which contains true stories from both his professional and personal life.

The tour promises new rants, knife-edge observations, thrilling musical interludes and a knack for laughs on the fly. The marketing material claims, “You’ll pay for the whole seat, but you’ll only need the edge of it!”

Leading UK comedy agency

The Mowlem has been collaborating with Off the Kerb Productions, a leading UK comedy agency that manages some of the biggest names in comedy including Harry Hill, Jo Brand, Romesh Ranganathan and Michael McIntyre.

It also represents Seann Welsh who performed on The Mowlem stage in September 2023 and Andy Parsons in November 2023. Now local comedy fans have more to look forward to!

Quick-fire banter

Rich Hall, who was born in Virginia in 1954 and grew up in North Carolina in the US, is known for his quick-fire banter with audiences and playing his guitar on stage.

In 2000, he won the prestigious Perrier Comedy Award at the Edinburgh Festival.

He now lives between Montana in the US and the UK and is described as a transatlantic messenger, lampooning each country he visits with his observations.

What he will make of Swanage, who knows?!
