“An off-duty paramedic gave first aid”

PC Donal Doyle of Dorset Traffic Police said:

“An off-duty paramedic gave first aid until the ambulance arrived. Obviously we appreciate that people stop to help. It was a minor three vehicle collision and everyone is accounted for.

“If anyone has any dashcam footage or witnessed the collision they should let us know. Our enquiries are ongoing.”

No one was trapped

Two fire crews, one from Swanage and one from Poole attended the incident. While three vehicles were involved, no one was trapped.

Nick Corben from Swanage Fire Station and incident commander said:

“When we arrived on the scene, there were three casualties out of the vehicles and we initially helped with casualty care.”

South Western Ambulance Service then took two of the casualties to hospital but neither of them were seriously injured.

“Take care”

Tim Kench from Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue added:

“At this time of year, the roads are getting busier, so we ask everyone to take care when driving in this hot weather.”

Valley Road was cleared and reopened just after 4 pm.
