Cyclist airlifted to hospital after collision with van near Wareham

A man in his 30s has received serious injuries after a collision with a van on Bere Road near Wareham.

Dorset Police are now appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened near to The Silent Woman pub, and was reported to police at 7.45 pm on Thursday 19th January 2023.

The collision involved a white Citroen Dispatch van, driven by a local man in his 50s, and a male cyclist from Poole in his 30s.

The cyclist was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.

Police constable Tracey Downer, of the traffic unit, said:

“I am appealing for any witnesses to the collision who have not yet spoken with police to please come forward.

“I am also keen to hear from anyone who may have relevant dashcam footage that could assist our investigation.”
