Workman rescued from Wareham roof by firefighters

Firefighters from Wareham, Weymouth and Westbourne were all called to help a roofer who had become stuck on top of a house, after being taken ill.

The man was re roofing the house in Worgret Road in Wareham when he became ill and couldn’t manage to get down.

Strapped onto a stretcher

A fire engine from Wareham Fire Station, along with a technical rescue team from Weymouth and an aerial ladder platform from Westbourne Fire Station received calls to go to the scene at 11.34 am on Wednesday 19th May 2021.

The man had to be strapped onto a stretcher before being carefully brought down from the scaffolding on the ladder platform, where he could then receive further medical assistance.
