Popular Swanage Lifeboat Lego movie gets a sequel

Following the runaway success of last year’s RNLI Lego animation by 12 year old Christian, he’s now released a follow up movie for this year’s Swanage Lifeboat Week.

The young YouTuber animator is related to a member of the Swanage RNLI crew, so gets to see first hand what it’s like when the pagers go off and the volunteers stop what they are doing and respond quickly to the call for help.

In the first film, which has now been watched thousands of times on his YouTube channel Cags Productions, a kayaker gets into trouble when a shark makes him lose his paddle and the Swanage Lifeboat rushes to his rescue.

The shark is back!

In The RNLI Rescue 2, the shark is back and this time it attacks the crew of a dinghy.

Fortunately, the sailors remember the lifesaving tip ‘Float to Live’ by floating on their backs in the sea, giving them vital more survival minutes until the Swanage Lifeboat volunteers arrive on the scene.

“100,000 interactions on social media”

Swanage Lifeboat Station said:

“As we reach the closing weekend of our lifeboat week, we are pleased to share our young supporter Christian’s latest Swanage Lifeboat animation. He’s now 12 years old and has spent hours of his summer holiday animating for Swanage Lifeboat Station.

“For last year’s virtual lifeboat week, Christian’s first animation for Swanage RNLI clocked up more than 100,000 interactions on social media and he took part in several TV and radio interviews.

“It was fantastic to have such a response despite not having a usual lifeboat week. We hope you like this year’s animation.

“We are also delighted to report that we raised over £700 at our flag day and our stall on the seafront raised nearly £300! Thank you to everyone who has supported us.”
