A number of roads across Swanage are to be closed while they’re resurfaced over the first two weeks of March 2020. The rolling programme from the 2nd to the 15th March 2020 will see each road treated with micro-asphalt, which is laid over the top of the existing surface to get rid of potholes. It’s then sealed and protected.
Signposted diversion
The roads will be closed between 8 am and 4pm but will be open overnight and at weekends. While each road is closed, a signposted diversion will be in place.
The roads in west Swanage include:
- Priests Road
- Steer Road
- Cow Lane
- Hillsea Road
- South Road
- Cecil Road
- Linden Road
The roads in south Swanage include:
- Stafford Road
- Exeter Road
- Taunton Road
- Grosvenor Road
- Seymer Road
- Sentry Road
- Belle Vue Road
- Park Road
- Marshall Row
Currently there are separate road closures in Swanage of Victoria Avenue and Institute Road for roadworks. The work on Victoria Avenue should be completed by the beginning of March 2020 but the Institute Road closure and traffic diversions will remain in place until the end of May 2020.
