Teenager sustains ‘laceration’ to body in Swanage town centre

Two boys aged 15 and 16 have been arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent following an alleged assault on another boy aged 15 near Swanage bus station.

Dorset Police say they received a report that at around 10 pm on Friday 9th June 2023 that a 15 year old boy had received a laceration to his body following an encounter with other teenage boys who were known to him.

The boy was treated by the ambulance service but did not require immediate hospital treatment.

Following enquiries by officers, two teenage boys – aged 15 and 16 – were arrested but later released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Dorset Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

Detective Constable Liam Moss, of Dorset County CID, said:

“We are continuing to investigate this incident and from our enquiries we understand there were a number of people in the vicinity at the time of this incident.

“I would urge anyone who saw what happened, or who has any further information that might assist our enquiries, to please contact us.

“I would also urge motorists with dashcam who were in the area and residents with home CCTV to please check their footage for anything of relevance.”
