“I like Swanage because it’s a quaint Victorian seaside town” – Di Standley, co-owner of Tilly Whims

Di Standley is co-owner of three shops in Swanage: Tilly Whims (lifestyle clothing), Coast & Country (outdoor clothing), and Country Corner (homeware store).

Tilly Whims is one of three shops in the heart of Swanage, all run by the same team. The owners, Di Standley and Michaela Hutchings, first bought Tilly Whims, and then took over the lease on the shop over the road and created Coast & Country. The most recent acquisition was the takeover of Country Corner, the shop next door to Tilly Whims.

“I like the seaside and I like the coastal things that we sell…Whales are very popular; puffins and seagulls – there’s a lot of seagulls in Swanage! So those are the kind of things that I like and other people seem to like as well.”
